ATA Launches Friends of NASP® Course to Help Archery Retailers Grow Their Business While Supporting Youth Archery

Posted on: Sep 02, 2025

NEW ULM, MN — The Archery Trade Association, in proud partnership with the National Archery in the Schools Program, has launched a new, members-only course titled Friends of NASP®. This course is specifically designed to help ATA archery retailers connect with local NASP® programs, expand their business opportunities and grow the sport by supporting student archers beyond the classroom.

Friends of NASP® delivers a clear message: archery retailers are essential to the success and sustainability of youth archery. Through real-life success stories, practical strategies, and actionable ideas, the course provides a roadmap for retailers to become valuable partners in their local communities, while enhancing their bottom line.

“This course is a great example of how the archery industry can align to grow participation and support local businesses at the same time,” said Tommy Floyd, President of NASP®. “Retailers who engage with NASP® can build lasting relationships with families, schools and future customers. Building this community is a win for everyone.”

Friends of NASP® Course Highlights:

  • Retailer Success Stories: Testimonies from shops already working with NASP®—what worked, what they learned and how others can replicate their success.
  • Retail-Ready Opportunities: Guidance on hosting NASP®-themed events, offering lessons, selling compliant equipment and more.
  • Business Growth + Community Impact: A unique opportunity to drive revenue while making a difference in the lives of young archers.

Friends of NASP® emphasizes that the relationship between NASP® and local archery shops isn’t just beneficial, it’s vital. By actively supporting NASP® participants, archery retailers can build loyalty, foster engagement and help ensure that students who start with NASP® continue in the sport for life.

“Archery support doesn’t stop at the school gym—it continues at the local pro shop,” said Nicole Nash, senior manager of outreach at ATA. “This course helps retailers become that next step in a young archer’s journey, while growing their own business in the process.”

The Friends of NASP® course is now available exclusively to ATA members. Please contact Nicole Nash, ATA's senior manager of outreach, at nicolenash@archerytrade.org or (507) 233-8146 with questions.
