The POMA Summit returns May 26–28 at Wild Wings of Oneka in Hugo, Minnesota, offering three immersive days of connection, education and hands-on outdoor experiences. Designed to bring together media professionals and industry partners, the Summit blends storytelling, innovation and relationship-building into a dynamic, field-driven environment.
A Warm Welcome and Fireside Connections
The Summit kicks off Tuesday evening with a welcome dinner, setting the tone for what quickly becomes a highly collaborative and energetic gathering. As the sun sets, attendees gather for campfire networking—an informal but impactful opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, meet new partners and begin conversations that often shape the days ahead.
Industry Insights and Hands-On Learning
Wednesday begins early with breakfast and sponsor-led discussions before attendees head offsite for a unique behind-the-scenes factory tour at Federal Ammunition. Throughout the morning, a series of educational sessions provide valuable insights into content creation, industry trends and techniques, all tailored specifically to outdoor media professionals.
The afternoon shifts back to Wild Wings of Oneka, where creativity and collaboration take center stage. A dedicated podcasting and interview space opens for media members, while corporate partners prepare for the highly anticipated showcase.
By mid-afternoon, the Corporate Partner Showcase is in full swing—giving attendees the opportunity to explore new products, connect directly with brands and discover story ideas for the year ahead. The day concludes with dinner, a lively auction and another evening of campfire networking that continues to strengthen relationships across the industry.
Field Experiences and Real-World Content Creation
Thursday brings one of the Summit’s most anticipated elements: hands-on outdoor experiences. Attendees choose from the Range Experience, Fishing Experience, Turkey Hunt Experience or Sporting Clays Experience—each designed to provide authentic, real-world content creation opportunities while connecting participants with brands and experts in the field.
Back at the venue, media members once again have access to podcasting and interview space, ensuring that stories and content captured throughout the day can be developed and shared in real time.
Keynote, Recognition and Celebration
The Summit culminates with a keynote presentation from Dan Kahn, who shares insights on cutting through the noise in today’s media landscape using strategy, storytelling and emerging tools like AI—while maintaining authenticity in outdoor communications.
Following the keynote, attendees gather for dinner and the prestigious Pinnacle Awards, recognizing excellence in outdoor media. The evening closes, fittingly, around the campfire—bringing the event full circle with one last opportunity to connect, reflect and celebrate the community.
More Than a Conference
The POMA Summit is more than a traditional conference—it’s an experience-driven event where education meets adventure. From structured sessions and brand showcases to field experiences and fireside conversations, every element is designed to foster meaningful connections and elevate the craft of outdoor storytelling.
