Sign Up Now for CMP’s 2026 Eastern Games in North Carolina

BUTNER, N.C. – Register today for the Civilian Marksmanship Program’s (CMP) 2026 Eastern CMP Games!

 

Eastern Games is set to be held May 2-10 at the Camp Butner Training Facility in North Carolina. The recreation-oriented event, part of CMP’s Travel Games series, is an exciting assortment of competitions and educational clinics open to adults and juniors of all experience levels.

 

Guests to the event will be able to choose from a lineup of CMP’s own modern and vintage military rifle competitions, like the Springfield, Carbine and John C. Garand Matches, as well as the .22 Rimfire Sporter Rifle Match and Vintage Sniper team event. Mid-Range 3x600 and 1,000-yard Long Range matches will also make a return in 2026 as well as CMP Highpower Matches – comprised of 4-Man Team, 80 Shot and EIC Rifle competitions.

 

Like other Travel Games events, those competing in the John C. Garand Match with As-Issued M1 Rifles will have the chance to earn a GCA (Garand Collectors Association) Master Marksman medal, based on performance at designated events.

 

NEW IN 2026: The top 10 percent of competitors in the As-Issued John C. Garand and Springfield Rifle Matches who have not earned any previous EIC Rifle credit point will now be able to earn introductory 4-point legs in these matches!

 

NOTE: All rifle matches will be fired on CMP’s line of outdoor electronic targets, removing pit duty and allowing for faster completion times and a more comfortable experience for participants on the range!

 

Eastern Games also presents CMP’s growing field of pistol opportunities, like Centerfire, .45 and .22 Pistol 900 Aggregates and a Service Revolver EIC Match. Those interested in learning more about the sport may also sign up for the Pistol or Rifle Marksmanship 101 courses, where individuals learn within the classroom and on the firing line from certified CMP instructors.
