RMEF’s Kyle Weaver Named to Federal Advisory Hunting Council

Continuing a distinction dating back five presidential administrations, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation President and CEO Kyle Weaver accepted a nomination to serve on the Hunting and Shooting Sports Conservation and Access Council.
The federal advisory group provides recommendations to President Trump and the federal government on wildlife and habitat conservation, hunting and shooting sports, partnerships and public access to hunting and shooting opportunities.
“On behalf of our RMEF volunteers, members and sportsmen and women, it is an honor to receive and accept this assignment to serve,” said Weaver. “I look forward to working with Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins and my fellow council members to strengthen conservation, wildlife populations, public access and our hunting heritage today and for generations to come.”
Though the council went through slightly different name iterations over the years, RMEF first accepted a call to serve during the George W. Bush administration in 2006. That service continued in various forms during the subsequent Obama, Trump and Biden terms.
Weaver joined RMEF as its president and CEO in 2018. Born and raised in southern Virginia, he developed a passion for the outdoors by hunting, fishing and working on the family farm. He has dedicated his professional career to protecting and promoting hunting and conservation.
