POMA Announces Award Winners

The Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA) 2025 Award Winners were announced during POMA’s Annual Meeting at Ohio’s Maumee Bay Lodge & Conference Center on June 25.

POMA’s Pinnacle Awards are the highest honor the organization can bestow upon its media members for their creative works. They honor journalists annually for exceptional journalistic achievement in traditional outdoor sports-focused magazine writing, newspaper/web writing, photography/illustration, book, broadcasting and conservation journalism.

The winners of the 2025 Pinnacle Awards are:

Newspaper/Web:

  • Winner – Ken Perrotte, Signs of Fall and Renewal in a Hunter’s Soul
  • Outstanding Achievement – Jodi Stemler, How to Choose a Shotgun as a Female Hunter

Magazine Article:

  • Winner – Paul Wait, Waterfowl Hunting in 2050
  • Outstanding Achievement – Paul Wait, Hope for Hunting’s Future

Magazine Complete (Digital):

  • Winner – Chris Avena, American Outdoor News – Pat & Nicole Reeve – The Pursuit of Adventure
  • Outstanding Achievement – Chris Avena, American Outdoor News – Kristy Titus – Hot Pursuit
