As an outdoor writer, it seems I’m blessed to get to write about everything under the sun. Elk, deer, antelope, moose, bear, duck, dove, pheasant, grouse, whistle pig, squirrel, hog hunting and who knows what else. Fishing from Florida up to Alaska. I love to backpack into the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness Area. Then what about four-wheeling? And the list goes on and on and on!
Here’s why I say all of this. I remember the first writers convention (POMA) that I went to. They told me that I had to be an expert at something. I’ve hunted and fished all of my life and yet I can’t name even one area where I’m an expert. Will that day ever arrive? Every article I write, there’s at least 10 readers that know more than I do on that subject.
