RAPID CITY, SD (September 22, 2025) – Supporting Tree Stand Safety Awareness month, National Bowhunter Education Foundation (NBEF) partnered with state of Indiana officials to promote tree stand safety. In a pilot program, NBEF supplied educational materials to be used at local events and classes throughout Indiana. The ABC’s of tree stand safety will dominate the messaging efforts. The ABC’s were developed in conjunction with the Tree Stand Safety Association Foundation and Treestand Manufacturers’ Association.
“NBEF continues to test new programs to increase awareness of tree stand safety and bowhunter safety,” said NBEF Executive Director Marilyn Bentz. “We know being educated and prepared can reduce incidents.”
“These tree stand safety educational materials will aid our efforts to reduce tree stand incidents in Indiana,” said Capt. Andy Hagerty, Law Enforcement Division, IN DNR. “We’re thankful NBEF chose to work with us on this project.”
NBEF helps bowhunters be safe, successful and stewards of the sport. NBEF offers bowhunting instructional items, books, videos, 3-D models, apparel and more at nbef.org.
