National Bowhunter Education Foundation Helps Prepare Arkansas Crossbow Instructors For Fall Classes

Posted on: Apr 27, 2023

RAPID CITY, SD (April 26, 2023) – A Crossbow Education Instructor training session was recently held in Arkansas to prepare instructors for the numerous urban hunt orientation meetings that occur in Arkansas each fall. Urban hunt participants are required to present a certificate from completing either class at www.bowhunter-ed.com or www.crossbow-ed.com depending on the equipment used while hunting. Participants who plan to shoot a crossbow at the orientation proficiency shoot and during the urban hunt must complete the crossbow-specific class.

Training session attendees were certified as International Crossbow Education Program Instructors and had received ICEP certification online prior to the session. All participants were members of the Arkansas Bowhunters Association.

“Participants in this specialized class wanted to gain knowledge at the highest-level regarding crossbows,” stated NBEF Executive Director Marilyn Bentz. “We were fortunate to have Barb Terry, the Training and Education Coordinator for TenPoint Crossbows as well as NBEF Board member as our guest presenter.”

Urban hunts present unique circumstances and every hunt of this type is different in respect to the rules and regulations of the hunt. Be sure to check local and state regulations if you want to participate or create a special hunt. The NBEF offers a guide about using responsible bowhunting to address urban deer problems. The booklet “Guide to Urban Bowhunting” features a collection of history, information and rationale for using bowhunters and bowhunting to manage urban game animals.

NBEF helps bowhunters be safe, successful and stewards of the sport. NBEF offers bowhunting instructional items, books, videos, 3-D models, apparel and more at nbef.org.
