The National Youth Shooting Sports Conference is happening right now, October 6 - 7.  This conference brings partners, volunteers, and sponsors to Columbia, Missouri to talk about ways we can continue to change the future of youth shooting sports and keep our beloved outdoor industry going for years to come.  Larry and Brenda Potterfield addressed the crowd on our first day!  We couldn't do any of this without them!
The Walther Experience - a gun build and range training for women. In September, MidwayUSA Foundation lady staff members and two members of the Arkansas Game and Fish Foundation took part in a unique Walther Experience.  The day started at the Walther and Umarex headquarters in Fort Smith, Arkansas, and we jumped right in to a facility tour.  After a tour,  we headed to the PDP assembly line to build our Walther PDP pistol.  Employees who build thousands of guns a year showed us, piece by piece, how this beautiful pistol comes together, and they did it with a lot of patience.  Next, we scanned our custom serial number, and our gun headed to the test firing room. Wow! That was loud...thank you, Walkers hearing protection.  After the gun passed the test firing, we drove out to the range to fire rounds with targets in front of us, but before that, we had the most thorough safety training from an expert.  Walther Defense team member Tatiana Whitlock provided knowledge and comprehensive training that offered more value than any special firearm you can buy.  I cannot say enough about this training from Tatiana, anyone that has the opportunity to work with her should do it. We returned to Walther the next day, where their staff took us through an entire armorer's class.  My coworkers and I took our new PDP pistol apart and put it back together again like seasoned gunsmiths, breaking only a few nails in the process.   This was an empowering session and one that made each of us proud.  The entire two days were incredible, but the people at Walther and Tatiana's training made this an experience we will all remember for a long time. - Dani Farris, MidwayUSA Foundation Marketing Manager
