Lead Ammunition Impacts on Wildlife Populations Population Offered By Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation

Posted on: Nov 14, 2025

YORK, S.C. – November 14, 2025 – The Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation (OSCF), a leading nonprofit organization focused on increasing cultural acceptance of gun ownership, hunting, fishing, trapping and target shooting, will host a live Zoom presentation on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, from 2 to 3 p.m. to discuss results from its new research on lead ammunition.

The use of lead ammunition in hunting has been debated for decades, with positions ranging from no regulation to voluntary reductions and outright bans.

OSCF recently completed two comprehensive, nationwide studies examining the pricing and availability of copper and lead ammunition, as well as the impacts of lead ammunition on wildlife populations.

Anyone involved in the hunting or ammunition industry— including manufacturers, retailers, shooting ranges, media and others —are encouraged to attend this free presentation.

Speakers include OSCF Executive Director Jim Curcuruto, Wildlife Biologist Russ Mason and NRA Foundation Executive Director Peter Churchbourne.

The live presentation will take place via Zoom from 2 to 3 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Nov. 18. To register to attend, sign up at https://www.outdoorstewards.org/contact/ and enter “Ammunition Presentation” in the message box. Limited spots are available, early sign-ups are encouraged.

OSCF thanks The NRA Foundation for financial support of this important research.
