Honoring a Legend with a Lifetime Achievement Award

American Outdoor News Lifetime Achievement Award
Dallas, Texas (January 18, 2024)
On Thursday, January 11th at the Dallas Safari Club Convention, American Outdoor News (AON) presented their first annual lifetime achievement award. The AON Lifetime Achievement Award is in recognition of one’s participation, commitment and contributions to the preservation of our outdoor heritage and traditions.
Mr. Larry Weishuhn is this year’s recipient of the American Outdoor News Lifetime Achievement Award. Larry has spent a lifetime as a champion for the outdoors. As a wildlife biologist, he has established wildlife management programs on over 15 million acres. He has influenced generations of outdoorsmen/women through his television shows, books, articles, blogs, and podcasts throughout his life. We are proud to present Larry with this award.
“Words describing how truly honored I am to be the first recipient of the American Outdoor News’ Lifetime Achievement Award do not exist! I have spent nearly 60 years as a professional wildlife biologist/outdoor communicator never expecting to be honored in this manner, but I am truly thankful and honored for receiving this award! Thank You Chris Avena for the lifetime Achievement Award, and to those who were present during the award presentation at the 2024 Dallas Safari Club Convention and Hunters’ Expo.”
