The Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP) is proud to again present up to $1 Million in scholarships to outstanding athletes involved in marksmanship activities, in support of continued education and personal growth for the next generation. For the 2025-2026 school year, 300 scholarships were awarded.
CMP Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate academic achievement, leadership, community involvement and dedication to the sport, regardless of discipline.
Though the CMP’s Scholarship Program has provided thousands in funds to youth over the past few decades, in 2025, CMP leadership decided to increase the allotted scholarships to more than $1 million to deserving students.
NEW FOR 2027: In addition to its established scholarship program for graduating high school seniors, the CMP is expanding scholarship opportunities to include students currently enrolled in college who have continued participating in marksmanship competitions – reserving 10, $5,000 scholarships for college students.
Students are not required to compete on a collegiate marksmanship team to qualify, recognizing those who remain active in the sport through affiliated clubs and other competitive programs.
Scholarships To Be Awarded in 2027:
One $40,000 Renewable Scholarship: The CMP is pleased to continue its $10,000 annual scholarship, renewable for four years ($40,000 in total).
Four $20,000 Renewable Scholarships: $5,000 annually, renewable for four years ($20,000 in total). These scholarships honor the retirement and lasting contributions of longtime CMP Board members Dr. Carolyn Hines, Judith Legerski, Jon Bengston and Harry Sieben, whose dedication helped sustain and advance youth programs.
One-Year Scholarships ($3,000 and $10,000): Like all CMP Scholarships, these one-time scholarships may be used toward tuition and educational expenses at accredited colleges, universities, technical or trade schools and vocational programs.
Local Scholarships: The Scholarship Program will also award up to 30, $1,000 CMP Local Scholarships in the Anniston/Oxford, Talladega, Ala., and Ottawa County, Ohio, areas. No marksmanship experience is required to apply for the CMP Local Scholarships.
