ABC Idea Based Launches Outdoor-Focused Podcast

For ABC Idea Based, Downwind Properties is not just a place to create hunting and outdoor content. The marketing agency’s 200-plus-acre property in Central New York serves as a testing ground, production site and brand storytelling environment where gear is used in real conditions in the same settings where the audience lives its lifestyle.

That environment is now also home to “Back At Camp,” a new podcast from ABC Idea Based. The first episodes are streaming now on the Downwind Properties YouTube channel and all major podcast platforms, with new episodes posting every other week. The show is built around the conversations that happen after the hunt – stories, lessons learned, gear talk, laughs and the kind of honest back-and-forth that comes from time spent in the woods and on the water.

Hosted by ABC Idea Based CEO and Creative Director Travis Bort and his brother Brad Tenhave, “Back At Camp” is a natural extension of what ABC Idea Based already does at Downwind: create outdoor content in a place designed for it. The property includes varied terrain suited for dynamic video, photography, product testing and campaign development in all seasons. ABC Idea Based uses the property to stage shoots, test hunting and outdoor equipment and produce authentic brand content, with an on-site cabin that supports production downtime and can also be used by partners building their own content.

“Downwind Properties gives us a place to create work that comes from the culture, not just around it,” Bort said. “The podcast is one more way to show what that looks like and invite people into it.”

The launch of “Back At Camp” gives audiences a new entry point into the Downwind Properties experience, while underscoring what ABC Idea Based brings to brands in the outdoor space: creative informed by real participation, real knowledge and a real connection to the people they want to reach.
