JOB SUMMARY:
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation videographer & digital content creator will work to conceptualize, film, edit and produce high-quality video content to support various initiatives across a variety of communication platforms. Responsible for collaborating with a variety of staff members, departments and partners to understand project requirements and objectives and translate these into captivating visual stories.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION:
- Video/Photo Production: Plan, shoot and edit engaging content as directed for various platforms such as websites, social media and presentations. This includes filming with multiple cameras, lighting, sound recording, set design and basic post-production editing. Ability to run an on-set production as well cinema verité style, overseeing all aspects of the photography.
- Content Creation: Collaborate with the brand and communications team to develop video content that aligns with organizational goals and appeals to target audience preferences.
- Scriptwriting: Work with production team to script and/or storyboard videos ensuring clear messaging, storytelling and alignment with brand voice and objectives.
- Equipment Management: Manage and maintain video equipment ensuring it is in good working condition. This may include cameras, lighting, microphones and editing software.
- Post-Production: Edit raw footage to produce polished, high-quality videos. This involves video clipping, color correction, sound editing, post touch-ups, adding graphics or animations and integrating music or voiceovers using Adobe Premiere and other relevant software.
- Optimize video content for various platforms and formats, considering factors such as aspect ratios, file sizes and resolution requirements.
- Upload and maintain assets to RMEF’s digital asset management tool and servers.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and effective multimedia campaigns.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices in video production and content marketing.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge and support of the RMEF’s mission, goals and activities.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and complete numerous projects and tasks under time constraints by assigned deadlines, working at a fast pace and remaining accurate.
- Must portray a positive, can-do attitude to teammates or customers and demonstrate the ability to handle interruptions.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software, web-based applications and have the ability to understand/utilize relational databases.
- Proven work experience in Adobe photo/video and editing mediums. Adobe Suite Required (Premiere Pro CC, After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom).
- Strong understanding of cinematography principles, lighting techniques and audio recording.
- Knowledge of video SEO principles and best practices for maximizing reach and engagement.
- Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with different audiences.
- Must demonstrate creative thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt when needed.
- Must be proactive, demonstrating solid follow-through and attention to detail, and demonstrate the flexibility to adjust when requested.
- Must have the ability to work in and foster a team-oriented environment across multiple departments, including proactively helping department staff and working collaboratively.
- Must be able to present self in professional manner and effectively communicate to and develop a relationship with a wide range of individuals including staff, corporate partners, volunteers, members, and other RMEF customers.
- Demonstrate storytelling and script-writing skills with the ability to convey complex ideas through compelling visuals.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in film production, digital media, communication or related field is preferred. A minimum of three to five years of experience as a videographer, video editor or content specialist is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The employee must sit or stand for long periods of time, use a computer terminal and telephone, reach forward and to the side; bend from both standing and sitting position and lift items weighing various pounds. Some travel may be required. Work will occasionally require more than the standard number of hours per week to perform essential duties of the position and require occasional irregular hours both during the week and on weekends.
