Founded by Barefoot Ted after his journey into minimalist running and the ideas shared in Born to Run, LUNA has been a pioneer in minimalist sandals for over a decade. Our sandals are worn by trail runners, hikers, travelers, vanlifers, and everyday humans who value simplicity, durability, and connection to the ground. About the Role
LUNA Sandals is seeking a Social Media & Influencer Manager to help guide our voice, grow our reach, and strengthen our community.
This role can be remote, part-time, and either contractor or in-house. We care more about alignment, consistency, and execution than titles.
Own social media strategy and execution
Plan content, manage posting cadence, and track performance
Provide strategic oversight for influencer and affiliate marketing
Assistant support handles influencer discovery and outreach
You focus on brand alignment, partnerships, and growth direction
Have proven experience managing social media and influencer programs
Understand brand voice and community-driven growth
Comfortable working asynchronously (many of our collaborators travel)
Organized, communicative, and self-directed
Bonus if you are health concious and live a vanlife / outdoor / adventure-oriented lifestyle and can naturally tell that story
In 2003 Barefoot Ted was on a seemingly simple mission: to learn how to run pain-free. As he learned more about the natural selection of footwear in human cultures , he kept finding the simple sandal as the footwear of choice for many cultures past and present. This fascinating quest into the world of movement, running, and simple footwear led him into the Copper Canyons of Mexico in 2006; the story of which is famously chronicled in Christopher McDougall's best-seller , Born To Run. If you ha ve read Born To Run , you are familiar with Ted's story. He traveled down to the Copper Canyons to run an ultra-marathon with the legendary Tarahumara. W hile there, Ted became friends withManuel Luna, a Tarahumara sandal maker. Manuel made Ted his first pair of traditional tire 'huarache' sandals. The spark for LUNA sandals was born and as they say, the rest is history.
