Apply market research, trend insight, and knowledge to interpret business briefs from the product team to select materials, and actively create and present new innovative concepts.
Develop and create illustrations for new design concepts and digital renderings of materializations in Photoshop and Illustrator, detailing concept and proposed materials.
Manage and drive multiple design project concepts within calendar timeline.
Where appropriate, make recommendations to design and development team lead on sourcing and manufacturing.
Review sourced materials with technical design before first prototype is submitted from vendor.
Review initial prototypes with technical designer. (In person or video conference)
Collaborate and clearly communicate with sales, product and design team to ensure design objectives are reflected in the creation and execution of the product.
Prepare and present design projects, clearly communicating design vision.
Collaborate with and support sales team and industry peers to ensure season runs smoothly.
Proactively anticipate how to manage design deadline to meet timeline dates.
Domestic travel as required. Attendance at tradeshows and events may also be required as directed.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite: Illustrator, and Photoshop.
Ability to effectively prepare and present information in a visually compelling way; Ability to articulate creative concepts to a broad audience.
Knowledge in current winter sport and outdoor industry trends and the ability to interpret trends.
Highly motivated team player and self-starter.
Ability to translate and communicate visual concepts into clear, compelling presentations.
Excellent verbal, visual, and written communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
Experience working effectively in a small team environment with team members located across the U.S.
Good project management and organizational skills; ability to multi-task in a time sensitive environment, deadline and process driven; exceptional attention to detail.
Knowledge of product design and appropriate use of materials.
Understanding of garment constructions, fabric bases, and general construction details.
Comprehensive understanding of design process, print and color design, and trend awareness.
Good understanding of interdependency between design and development processes.
Ability to communicate effectively with development team, sales, marketing, and retailers on product design goals and process.
