Reports To: Director of Grassroots Support

Location: Remote (Midwest Region of the US)

The National Deer Association (NDA) is seeking one full-time Regional Director in its Midwest region. NDA’s Regional Directors work closely with volunteer-led Branches to plan and implement successful fundraising and conservation-related events to help drive the non-profit mission of the National Deer Association.

Position Description:

The ideal candidate for the Midwest position should reside in the Midwest region of the United States, Indiana, Illinois, or Missouri areas preferred. Otherwise, the location is remote. Salary is commensurate with skills and experience. Benefits include competitive health insurance, vacation, retirement, paid holidays, and flexible working arrangements. These positions report to NDA’s Director of Grassroots Support.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Effectively start and maintain mission-driven NDA Branches in the territory.
  • Work closely with NDA Branches to plan, organize, and conduct successful fundraising and mission events to increase net profits and mission success in the territory.
  • Manage volunteer efforts in support of NDA’s mission.
  • Facilitate paperwork/reporting requirements as directed by the NDA national office to ensure organizational efficiency and federal compliance.
  • Submit news items about NDA Branches from your territory to the appropriate NDA communications staff.
  • Assist in planning/implementation of volunteer workshops and/or volunteer awards recognition program.
  • Represent NDA at key meetings and functions.
  • Ability to balance travel with the use of technology (Zoom, etc.) to facilitate efficient use of time and organizational resources.
  • Assist the NDA national office with operational matters as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field preferred; GED or High School Diploma required.
  • Prior experience working with volunteers and/or fundraising preferred.
  • Appreciation for and working knowledge of conservation, deer hunting, and habitat management preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Willingness to travel and work outside of normal business hours.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to travel for events and meetings.

Flexible Work Schedule:

A Regional Director position works closely with volunteers to meet, plan, and execute events. As such, a fair number of the work hours will fall outside of standard working hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm). However, we encourage all of our employees to maintain an appropriate work-life balance. To do so, we ask that you take time off during the standard working hours to account for hours worked during nights and weekends.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $50,000- $60,000 base salary with quarterly performance bonus incentives.
