Justin Morrissey

1st Vice President
Term Ends 2027
Wisconsin

Morrissey has worked with the National Shooting Sports Foundation® (NSSF®), the firearm industry trade association, for more than a decade and currently manages marketing, media and communications efforts related to NSSF programs, events and resources. NSSF owns and operates the annual Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show, the largest outdoor-centric show in the world, and runs leading national safety programs, like Project ChildSafe®. Morrissey works with a diverse list of industry partners and ambassadors to face the industry’s most difficult challenges through advocacy and education. As a mentor, one of his passion programs at NSSF is the +ONE® mentor activation initiative. His role as the program liaison allows him to bring organizations, businesses, and community leaders together to expand opportunities in "learn to hunt” programs, shooting sports R3 programs, and other local access points for those interested in firearm safety, recreational shooting, and hunting.

In addition to Morrissey's work with NSSF, he has built an extensive portfolio of work projects related to photography, videography, graphic design, and writing. His independent work can be seen from the floor of the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade (SHOT) Show to U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service conservation program videos to nationally syndicated TV shows like L.L. Bean's Guide to the Outdoors, Babe Winkelman’s Outdoor Secrets, and Huntin' Fool TV to publications like Ruffed Grouse Society’s Covers Magazine and HuntingLife.com. In 2020, he was honored to be named among SHOT Business’ 40 Under 40 Honorees.

Morrissey has been a proud member of Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA) since 2010 and has been active in the organization in many ways. From 2012 to 2014 (leading up to joining NSSF), he was one of the first POMA interns working directly with the POMA executive director and membership coordinator. In 2017, he gained a seat on the POMA Board of Directors and in 2018 became the Secretary. His first term on the board ended in 2021. In 2023, Morrissey was voted back onto the POMA Board due to a vacant seat soon after was nominated as the Second Vice President. He now serves as POMA's Vice President until 2027 before he steps into the President role behind current President Britney Booth. He gives credit to POMA as a major accelerator in his career as a designer, communicator and marketer in the outdoor industry.

Morrissey spends time away from his desk enjoying the company of his wife Abby, daughter Hallie, and black lab Gomer, taking care of animals on his farm in Wisconsin, and managing wildlife habitat projects at his hunting property. Morrissey is a mentor, conservationist, aspiring homesteader, hockey fan, and traveler, among many other things.
