At first glance, the Crop tool looks pretty simple and unsophisticated but take a closer look and you might be
surprised to see how much there is to learn about its capabilities.

Let’s explore what’s possible with this often underestimated feature.

We’ll start with the basics and then progress into the more obscure options of the Crop tool. To crop an image, you choose the Crop tool (C), move your mouse onto your image, click-and-drag to create a cropping rectangle, and then double-click anywhere within the rectangle (or press the Return [PC: Enter] key) to finalize the crop—or
press Escape to abort the crop. If the results aren’t to your liking, choose Edit>Undo Crop and start over.
