Mental Toughness
Posted: December 26, 2023
Not to stress anyone out, but it is nearly 2024. As with any change in life, this means new opportunities, new challenges, and new chances to prove ourselves. Regardless of whether we conquered life in 2023 or vice versa, its time to be moving on. This simple act of moving forward without baggage from the past will help us in the new year. It just requires a little mental toughness.

If this is starting to sound like a self-help article from a guy who reads David Goggins and attends a CrossFit gym, I sincerely apologize. I assure you I do neither. However, I do attend the "gym" of public land elk hunting each year, and I have heroes I look up to. Case in point: Remi Warren. Nobody in our industry works harder, has more grit, or strives for greater goals than this man. So, who better to share some tips with us on mental toughness?
The following interview-style article with Remi is produced by
MTNTough and offers plenty of insights from Remi on how to improve our mental fortitude. I hope you find it as valuable as I did.
1. Test Yourself and Find Out What You're Made of
Remi's under the opinion that most folks don't realize what they're truly made of; we'd have to wholeheartedly agree with him. Why? A concoction of fear and self-doubt keeps them firmly planted in their safe zone. This is as true in life as it is in hunting.
Remi's got a simple piece of advice for those folks - set a goal. A big, hairy one that's just outside your Truman Show bubble. Don't sweat the details, just lace up and get going. Trust in your grit and discipline to see you through.
