Credit Where its Due

"I should have taken up bowling." I've uttered this line, and ones similar to it, on many occasions in the outdoors. Traditionally, this is my go-to line after discovering I've broken some irreplaceable piece of gear.
The thing about bowling is that it's cheap. As an added bonus, the only piece of gear (a bowling ball) is difficult for even the most reckless of us to damage.
Fly-fishing gear? Not so much. An ultra-light fly-rod is the perfect tool to surgically remove brook trout from a mountain stream. Sadly, it's also the perfect instrument to get caught in an accidental door-slamming, amongst other even worse ends.

Flylords Mag focuses on an interesting way to mitigate some of the inevitable costs that come with fly-fishing. I think the concept is quite interesting and can be applied to any expensive hobby you may enjoy.
But that is where this particular story begins.
Unless you’re Instagram famous, a company named ambassador or a trust funded lucky bastard, you’re like most of us that work our tails off for a paycheck. Then you're brainstorming on how to buy that next Sage rod, trip to Alaska or how to put gasoline in your car to just go and hit the local fishery. Let’s not get started on making up excuses to loved ones just to go and hit the river for the afternoon.
