Bleed for Success
Posted: February 20, 2024

This old article by Cameron Hanes encourages us to pursue our goals even through failure. I think hunting, specifcally bowhunting, offers an opportunity to put this theory into practice. If you've ever tried to take a wild animal with nothing more than a sharp flying stick, you know failure is an unavoidable certainty.
The same can be said when you're pursuing a lofty goal. Cam Hanes, now a world-renowned hunter, writer, and editor, was once just a guy who was told no.
In his own words, he had to "bleed" for his success. Thankfully, this kind of success is also the most rewarding. My professional goals happen to mirror young Cam's from the 80s, but whatever your goals are this year, make sure you see failure as a tool, not a death sentence.
