Summary/Objective

The Senior Manager of Global E-Commerce plays a pivotal role in leading and executing Ruffwear’s global online sales strategies and owns the digital consumer experience. This player/coach role is responsible for profitable growth in this channel, optimizing the site experience, and building a sound customer retention model. This role will curate a regionally focused, premium content journey across Ruffwear’s global websites, leveraging our seasonal campaign assets. Reporting directly to the Chief Marketing Officer, this position will collaborate across the organization using a strong blend of strategic thinking, analytical acumen, and leadership skills to optimize Ruffwear’s ecommerce funnel - from acquisition and retention to conversion.

What You’ll be Responsible For

  • Driving end-to-end premium, unified Consumer journey and digital brand experience for Ruffwear’s Global e-Commerce websites

  • Hiring, managing, and developing a team of E-Commerce professionals (internal and external) to execute digital marketing campaigns, A/B testing, global merchandising, website development, and online advertising tactics

  • Successfully executing and continuing to iterate Ruffwear’s “Pack Perks” Loyalty Program to drive LTV and brand experience

  • Driving customer retention through CRM strategies, including Email and SMS marketing efforts, loyalty program, and personalized onsite content journeys

  • Optimizing the digital consumer experience, without sacrificing efficiency, across all platforms (internal & external) via SEO and UX/UI testing to help achieve annual revenue targets and maintain healthy profitability

  • Managing Performance Marketing seasonal tactics to profitability and adapting channel tactics to market conditions in alignment with Ruffwear’s revenue, profitability, margin, LTV:CaC, brand, and ROAS goals

  • Establishing KPI tracking and analysis of performance marketing, website data and trends alongside recommendations for curated channel tactics within performance media, email, sms, site experience, and other global e-commerce areas

  • Staying current on trends and AI integrated shopping tools to curate and lead the Outdoor & Pet Markets in global e-commerce experience

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting (Ruffwear office or home office as necessary).

Work Hours

Our headquarters operates in Pacific Time (PT), but as a global company, we collaborate across multiple time zones. This role requires flexibility to support teams and business needs across regions. As a salaried employee, we expect you to balance your time while ensuring availability for key meetings and collaboration, including some that may fall within Pacific Time hours or other necessary time zones.

Within the first year, this role will be expected to…

  • Achieve 2025 Global E-Commerce revenue target while maintaining a LTV:CaC ratio to profitability

  • Stand up a rw.com in a specific country before EOY

  • Establish relationships and help increase brand awareness with top wholesale.com partners through optimized product listings (SEO, content), co-op digital marketing campaigns, and improved merchandising performance

What a Great Candidate Brings to the Role

  • Proven success owning and scaling a profitable e-commerce business, ideally in outdoor or pet markets

  • 7-10 years of experience in e-commerce, with a focus on P&L, digital marketing and DTC strategy, preferably with global brands

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field

  • Strong leadership skills, preferably with experience managing distributed and international teams

  • Skilled in e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify or Salesforce), UX/UI optimization, and web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, SEMrush)

  • Data-driven mindset, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies and a willingness to experiment

  • First-hand knowledge of how off-platform performance marketing drives new customers and grows brand across Pure Play, Amazon, and wholesale.com platforms

  • Proven track record of driving creative assets across all digital marketing and selling channels and platforms to tell a brand’s story, improve conversion, and acquire customers, preferably with Klaviyo

  • Familiar with global e-commerce regulations, logistics, and payment systems

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with competing priorities

  • Drive for innovation and continuous improvement to stay ahead of industry trends in e-commerce and digital marketing

  • Passion for the outdoors, dogs and first-hand understanding of the interactive bond between canines and humans

This position is available for candidates already authorized to work in the country in which the position is based. Ruffwear is unable to sponsor work authorization for this position. Candidates must live in the Bend, Oregon area or the ability to relocate within 90 days of starting employment. Ruffwear will support relocation, if needed.
