Graphic Designer (Remote – U.S.)
Title: Graphic Designer
Classification: Full-time, Exempt + MDF Benefits (PTO, 401(k), Health Insurance)
Reports to: Chief Communications Officer

Job Summary: The Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) is seeking a detail-driven Graphic Designer to help
tell the story of conservation through compelling digital and print design. You will be responsible
for creating assets that elevate the brand and bring habitat projects to life across ads, email,
social, web, events, and print.

We are looking for a creative who pairs strong visual design (layout, typography, color) with
hands-on production skills and fluency in digital advertising and email design. Experience editing
short-form video (reels/stories) is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Design engaging assets for digital and print: social and display ads, email templates, banner
graphics, trade show/backdrops, flyers, signage, and event collateral.
• Build print-ready files (brochures, pamphlets, mailers) and manage specs/bleeds for commercial
printers.
• Support fundraising and membership campaigns with branded, performance-minded creative.
• Create logos/marks and micro-identities as needed.
• Design email templates and graphic packages for newsletters, welcome/engagement flows, and
fundraising series (Klaviyo, HubSpot, or similar).
• Produce digital ads optimized for Meta & Google placements, mindful of platform best
practices.
• Maintain brand consistency across all touchpoints and elevating as needed.
• (Bonus) Edit short-form videos for reels/stories and create ad assets based optimized for
performance (CTR, engagement, etc.).


Knowledge, Skills & Requirements:

• 5+ years professional graphic design experience (agency, in-house, or freelance with strong
portfolio).
• Expert in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop); Premiere Pro/After Effects a
plus.
• Proven experience designing creative for Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google Ads.
• Solid grasp of email design best practices (mobile-first, hierarchy, accessibility).
• Excellent layout, color, and typography skills; meticulous file organization and
naming.
• Confident preparing files for commercial print (pre-press, color profiles, bleeds).
• Accuracy and QA mindset; you proof your own work.
• Strong project management: juggle priorities, hit deadlines, collaborate across teams.
• Passion for the outdoors, wildlife, and conservation is a strong plus.

Location & Work Hours:

• Remote (U.S.) with reliable internet and a dedicated workspace.
• Preference for candidates residing within the range of mule deer or black-tailed deer (Western
U.S.) and near a hub airport for travel.
• Standard business hours align with Mountain Time (MT).
