Job Title: Digital Media & Design Coordinator
Location: Remote – Salt Lake City, UT
Reports To: Chief Communications Officer
Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
Overview:
The Mule Deer Foundation (MDF) is seeking a creative, self-motivated Digital Media & Design Coordinator to help elevate our digital presence and grow our online community of conservation-minded hunters. This role blends content creation, graphic design, social media management, and digital marketing into one dynamic position.
Preference will be given to candidates with firsthand hunting experience—especially mule deer—or a strong familiarity with the hunting and conservation space.
Key Responsibilities:
Social Media Management
- Manage daily posting across the Mule Deer Foundation and Blacktail Deer Foundation social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube)
- Create engaging reels, carousels, and static content tailored to outdoor and hunting audiences
- Monitor DMs, comments, and mentions; respond to messages and engage with our community
- Track performance metrics and adapt strategy based on data and trends
Graphic & Digital Design
- Design visuals for social, email, paid ads, and web in alignment with MDF branding
- Support layout needs for digital publications, event flyers, and conservation materials
- Create eye-catching graphics that resonate with the hunting and conservation lifestyle
Email Marketing
- Build and schedule email newsletters, fundraising campaigns, and membership outreach
- Work with internal teams to craft messaging and visuals for email marketing
- Analyze email metrics to improve open rates, CTR, and engagement
Paid Media Support
- Design creative assets for digital ad campaigns (Google, Facebook/Instagram)
- Collaborate with communications and development teams on targeting and messaging
- Monitor and report on performance of digital campaigns
Cross-Department Coordination
- Partner with conservation and development staff to support storytelling and campaigns
- Assist with marketing for sweepstakes, events, and partnerships
- Ensure brand consistency across all digital touchpoints
Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing social media and/or digital campaigns for a brand or organization
- Strong graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.)
- Familiarity with email marketing platforms (Klaviyo, Constant Contact, etc.)
- Basic understanding of digital advertising and campaign reporting
- Excellent written and visual communication skills
- Strong organizational habits and ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Passion for conservation and a genuine connection to the hunting/outdoor space
- Bonus if you’ve spent time in mule deer country and can speak the language of hunters
