The Springfield Missouri Convention & Visitors Bureau is offering several pre- and post-conference trips to media attending POMA's 10th Anniversary Business Conference. Attendees can get more bang for their travel buck, generate content and experience the Springfield, Missouri region. The trips offer attendees a great way to gather story ideas, as well as have a little fun in the Show Me State. If your calendar allows a little flexibility, take advantage of these great opportunities. Trips offer limited availability and may be subject to changes and cancelation. In addition, the CVB has pulled together an amazing list of great story ideas for media attendees to pursue -- to again, bolster the bang for your conference buck.

The Professional Outdoor Media Association (POMA) and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) honored American Rifleman and American Rifleman Television editor-in-chief Mark A. Keefe, IV, with the prestigious POMA/NSSF Grits Gresham Shooting Sports Communicator Award, an honor that recognizes extraordinary achievements in communications in the areas of responsible firearms use, the shooting sports, and hunting.

The votes have been tallied in the Board of Directors Election, and two new board members have been elected to begin their three year terms in March, 2015. The POMA media membership has elected Andrew Chamberlain and Fredy Riehl.

Rep. Steve Stockman of Texas introduced to Congress, on Jan. 2, H.R. 5893 - also known as the "Ansel Adams Act" - hoping it would serve “To restore the First Amendment Rights of Photographers.” Unfortunately, Stockman's last day in office was Jan. 3, 2015, and bills cannot be carried over from one Congress to another. In order to keep this bill on the table it must be resubmitted by a new member of Congress, or it is effectively dead.
