WHITE HOUSE CELEBRATES NATIONAL SHOOTING SPORTS MONTH … President Donald Trump issued a Presidential Message commemorating National Shooting Sports Month® 2020. He noted the traditions of responsible firearm ownership, firearm safety and preservation of recreational target shooting and Second Amendment rights. President Trump encouraged gun owners to invite others to join them in the shooting sports during August.
PARTICIPATE IN THE #RANGECHALLENGE … Launched in conjunction with National Shooting Sports Month, the #RangeChallengeSM Series is designed to be an easy, user-friendly target shooting activity any range can offer its customers starting in August. - Arkansas Republican Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced that Fiocchi of America, Inc., committed to opening an ammunition manufacturing plant in Little Rock, bringing 85 jobs.
- NSSF’s support for Department of Labor’s proposal to limit environmental, social and governance, or ESG investing, was highlighted at the end of a recent InvestmentNews article. ESG investing aims to subvert public policy by manipulating public pension fund investments.

- As a result of the pandemic, some ranges will not be able to open this August. Safety in The Crosshairs, an indoor range in New York, will have to remain closed but is still planning a delayed National Shooting Sports Month celebration.

- The European Commission (EC) requested the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) prepare a restriction of lead shot over wetlands. A draft being considered by the EC restricting traditional ammunition has left recreational shooters, hunters and member states baffled at the broad, irrational proposal.
- Outdoor Sportsman Group President and CEO Jim Liberatore’s passion project The Harvest is making headlines in mainstream media. The Harvest, a film that celebrates hunting and life in the heartland, was featured in a recent Forbes article for aiming to bypass Hollywood with the help of hunters and anglers.

- NSSF has announced a new industry benefit. The NSSF Prescription Discount Card is a prescriptions savings card good for most prescription medications and over-the-counter medicines when filled at a participating pharmacy.
