The Great American Outdoor Show, Presented by Outdoor Channel, opens its doors tomorrow, February 1, 2014, for a nine day celebration of the outdoor traditions treasured by millions of Americans. Located at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the Great American Outdoor Show is the largest consumer sports and outdoor show in the United States.
Attendees can explore 650,000 square feet of exhibit space featuring more than 1,000 exhibitors, including hunting, fishing, boat, and RV retailers, outfitters, and much more. This year’s show is expanding the presence of firearms, including modern sporting rifles, with the addition of a Shooting Sports Hall featuring national manufacturers such as Smith & Wesson, Colt, Taurus, Remington, and Beretta. The new hall joins the show’s traditional Hunting, Fishing, Archery, Camping, and Boating/RV areas.
“The Great American Outdoor Show is filled with everything that outdoor enthusiasts have come to expect from the NRA,” said Kyle Weaver, Executive Director of NRA General Operations. “Our additions of seminars, demonstrations, interactive displays, and evening entertainment have made an already amazing event into something that every attendee and exhibitor will never forget.”
This year’s show features a packed schedule of speaking events, a NRA Foundation fundraising banquet, a NRA Country concert featuring Brantley Gilbert, archery and game calling competitions, and more that will fill the evenings and extend the event long after the exhibit hall closes each day. A special Family Fun Zone, located in the concourse around the Large Arena, provides the opportunity for some group fun. Held every day of the show, the Family Fun Zone features stations for camouflage face painting, Laser Shot, suction cup archery, magnetic fishing, Eddie Eagle, duck calling, and more.
Parking for the Great American Outdoor Show may be found at the Farm Show Complex and in nearby lots, including the Harrisburg Mall, which provide free shuttle service during regular show hours. All outdoor enthusiasts are invited to attend and can enjoy reduced admission compared to Harrisburg’s previous sports and outdoor show.
