QDMA Welcomes Fall 2017 Interns

“We are honored to have these new interns on our team, and we hope this experience helps them better their education while they help QDMA achieve our non-profit mission and even improve our operations,” said John Eastman, QDMA Senior Director of Operations.

Education & Outreach

Moriah Boggess and Torin Miller are interns in the Education & Outreach Department under Director Kip Adams. Their duties will include identifying research funding opportunities, developing educational materials, engaging in legislative advocacy, and assisting with QDMA’s certification programs.

Moriah Boggess.jpgBoggess is currently a student at North Carolina State University pursuing his bachelor’s degree in fisheries, wildlife and conservation biology. He has worked as an intern with the Purdue University Extension in Forestry and Natural Resources, as well as a volunteer for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. He has also served as the president and treasurer of the N.C. State Branch of QDMA.

Torin Miller.jpgMiller has a bachelor’s degree in wildlife and fisheries science from Penn State and is currently pursuing a law degree there with a concentration in environmental law. He has served as a government policy intern with the National Deer Alliance and has assisted on numerous research projects.

Communications

MarinaBach.jpgMarina Bach is interning in the Communications Department with Director Lindsay Thomas Jr. She will be researching, writing and distributing press releases and assisting with public relations, media outreach and improving awareness of QDMA among the hunting industry and the public.

Bach is a senior at Lindenwood University in Missouri pursuing a degree in Mass Communication. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her father and sister on their family hunting property in Kirksville, Missouri. Bach’s father Domenic is a QDMA member and has taught his daughters about the Quality Deer Management philosophy that is applied on the family property.

QDMA Canada

Bill Williams.jpgBen Williams will be assisting QDMA Canada operations under Rob Argue, Director of Operations and Outreach. Williams will be assisting with outreach projects aimed at expired or soon-to-expire Canadian members as well as helping update the QDMA Canada Facebook page and website.

Williams attended Finger Lakes Community College in New York and obtained an associates degree in Natural Resources Conservation in 2013. He then went on to obtain a Fisheries and Wildlife Technology degree in 2014. Williams is also a member of QDMA’s New York State Advisory Council and a QDMA Life Member. He also enjoys volunteering with the NWTF youth outreach program and at his local gun club with the Hunter Education program.
