President Trump, New Programs and High Energy Highlight 146th NRA Annual Meetings in Downtown Atlanta

NRA-Logo-wSeal-BWThe National Rifle Association continued its time-honored yearly tradition, hosting the 146th NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits Presented by MidwayUSA in downtown Atlanta April 27-30, 2017. The marquee event, held this year at the Georgia World Congress Center, attracted 81,836 NRA members from across the country to celebrate Second Amendment freedoms.

This year’s event boasted the largest exhibit hall ever, featuring 15 acres of firearms, gear and outfitters from more than 800 exhibitors. On the heels of the 2016 Presidential election, the atmosphere in Atlanta was one of immense pride and victory. It was also a time to remind NRA members that the fight to defend our cherished freedoms never ends, and that now is a time of great opportunity to build a better future for the Second Amendment and gun rights.

In addition to the sprawling exhibit hall, the NRA Annual Meetings featured an all-star lineup of special events and performances throughout the exciting four days. The NRA-ILA Leadership Forum Presented by Townhall Media and Bearing Arms was headlined by President Donald J. Trump, who reaffirmed his commitment to protecting gun rights to a sold-out crowd and thanked the NRA for their support in his successful 2016 campaign. President Trump’s speech marked the first time a sitting U.S. President had addressed the NRA since President Ronald Reagan spoke at the NRA Annual Meetings in Phoenix in 1983.

The launch of NRA Carry Guard at the show introduced the most comprehensive training and insurance program for those who carry a gun, designed and backed by the country’s foremost authority on firearms training and the architect of the American concealed carry movement.

The sold-out Saturday Night Concert Featuring Hank Williams Jr. and Special Guest Lee Brice sponsored by Davidson’s Gallery of Guns rocked the house and continued the celebration that lasted throughout the weekend.

The National NRA Foundation Banquet sponsored by Henry Repeating Arms, Century Arms and Kimber kicked off the NRA Annual Meetings with an evening full of friends, family, firearms and fundraising. Nearly 1,500 patriots celebrated their freedoms with an energy-packed evening commemorating 25 years of Friends of NRA and its mammoth fundraising efforts.

Tens of thousands of NRA members look forward to the pageantry, pride and memories that can only be found at the NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits. We look forward to continuing the proud traditions of the NRA Annual Meetings and Exhibits next year in Texas, when we pull into Dallas May 3-6, 2018!
