The board of directors of the Professional Outdoor Media Association is pleased to announce Kevin Orthman, of Valparaiso, Indiana, has accepted the position of executive director, becoming the second person to hold that role in the organization’s 10-year history. Laurie Lee Dovey, one of the group’s founding members and its first executive director, left the position in December.
“Mr. Orthman comes from outside the outdoor trade industry and brings with him a tremendous set of business skills,” said Kevin Tate, chairman of POMA’s board of directors. “He has helped found and grow businesses, he has vast hands-on experience in trade show and event management, he’s well versed in multi-faceted marketing strategies and he’s the sort of enthusiastic hard worker we believe will be ideal for the task.”
“Kevin brings a unique skill set to POMA. His strong background in sales and marketing will serve our membership well. I look forward to working with him to take our organization to new levels,” stated POMA president Tom Opre.
“I am incredibly honored to be chosen to lead the POMA organization. While I have 20 years of business experience under my belt with companies big and small, my passion has always been for the outdoors. I believe strongly in the values and mission of this organization and its potential for growth. I’m looking forward to getting to know the membership and working with the board in building a strong future for POMA,” said Kevin Orthman.
