The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) and Richard Childress Racing join forces for the 10th year to hold their annual “Wine, Wheels & Wildlife” event. Combining Richard Childress’ love of racing, wine and America’s hunting and angling heritage, the event helps spotlight the work the CSF does to protect and advance sportsmen’s interest today, and for future generations.

On October 15, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) teamed up for the 10th year with NASCAR legend and CSF Honorary Board of Directors Member Richard Childress at Childress Vineyards in Lexington, North Carolina. The annual event, “Wine, Wheels & Wildlife,” included a reception, dinner, auction, winery tours and outdoor activities. It brought together over 350 supporters of the sportsmen’s community, NASCAR representatives, sportsmen’s conservation and other outdoor organizations, and 25 state and federal legislators.

CSF President Jeff Crane opened the event and recognized the attendees. “Ten years ago, Richard Childress partnered with CSF to link three of his greatest interests: racing, wine, and the future of America’s hunting and angling heritage. This event has grown to be one of CSF’s most successful, bringing together a wide range of supporters, who share these passions,” said Crane.

Childress, the host of “Wine, Wheels & Wildlife,” noted the success of the event and growth of CSF over the past decade. “It is because of the work CSF does, protecting and advancing sportsmen’s interests, which allows us to further the nation’s hunting and angling traditions today and for tomorrow’s generations. As an Honorary Board Member, and avid sportsman, I am proud to do my part as a supporter of CSF,” said Childress.

Senator Buck Newton (NC), North Carolina Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus Co-Chair spoke on behalf of the Caucus. “Since 2006, the North Carolina Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus, working closely with CSF, has consistently worked to promote North Carolina’s strong sporting heritage by supporting pro-sportsmen’s policies and state fish and wildlife management objectives. As a Caucus, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Richard Childress for hosting us this evening and to CSF for supporting our Caucus efforts and initiatives here in North Carolina,” said Sen. Newton.

The 10th Annual “Wine, Wheels & Wildlife” Title Sponsors included Childress Vineyards, Remington, and Richard Childress Racing. Host Sponsors included: ATK, Bass Pro Shops, Cabela’s Outdoor Fund, National Shooting Sports Foundation, Safari Club International, Shimano American Corporation, and Smith & Wesson. Co-Host Sponsors included: The Buck Bomb, Caterpillar Inc., Dallas Safari Club, Davidson’s Inc. Grady-White Boats, and Realtree Outdoors.

Since 1989 CSF has maintained a singleness of purpose that has guided the organization to become the most respected and trusted sportsmen’s organization in the political arena. CSF’s mission is to work with Congress, governors, and state legislatures to protect and advance hunting, angling, recreational shooting and trapping. The unique and collective force of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (CSC), the Governors Sportsmen’s Caucus (GSC) and the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses (NASC), working closely with CSF, and with the support of major hunting, angling, recreational shooting and trapping organizations, serves as an unprecedented network of pro-sportsmen elected officials that advance the interests of America’s hunters and anglers.
