The prescribed use of fire is being used to benefit Pennsylvania’s forests and improve habitat for wildlife.

The PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources/Bureau of Forestry in conjunction with the PA Game Commission and the U.S Fish & Wildlife Service conducted a prescribed burn on a portion of the Moshannon State Forest located in Rush Township, Centre County, PA.

Assistant District Forester Wayne Wynick and Fire Forester Ryan Ling are our special guests this week sharing the details of how, and why the burn was conducted.

The program airs on Monday June 22nd, 2015. Gateway Outdoors is heard every Monday at 6 PM on Connect FM 96.7 and 107.9 FM and live streamed on the internet. www.connectradio.fm
