Thanks New Co-sponsors of the Bipartisan Sportsmen's Act From Mule Deer Foundation
The Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act is critical legislation to improve access and opportunities for hunters, anglers and shooters, and it also will reauthorize a number of important conservation programs. Twelve U.S. Senators signed on as co-sponsors to the Bipartisan Sportsmen's Act of 2015. The Mule Deer Foundation thanks all co-sponsors that show support for sportsmen's issues.
Yesterday twelve U.S. Senators signed on as co-sponsors to the Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act of 2015, legislation that will address a number of key sportsmen’s and conservation issues. Sens. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.), Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), Steve Daines (R-Mont.), Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.), Cory Gardner (R-Colo.), Dean Heller (R-Nev), John Hoeven (R-N.D.), Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Angus King (I-Maine), Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.), and Jon Tester (D-Mont.) joined original co-sponsors, Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) and Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.), and Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus leadership Sens. Jim Risch (R-Idaho), Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), Deb Fischer (R-Neb.), and Heidi Heitkamp (D-N.D.) in support of the bill. The following is a statement from MDF President and CEO, Miles Moretti about the Sportsmen’s Act and the recent show of support in the Senate.
“The Mule Deer Foundation thanks Senators Murkowski and Heinrich for their leadership on introducing the Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act, and we particularly thank the latest group of Senators to co-sponsor and show support for sportsmen’s issues. This proves unequivocally that sportsmen’s issues are non-partisan and impact everyone from the east coast to the southern and midwestern states to our great mule deer states out west. The Bipartisan Sportsmen’s Act is critical legislation to improve access and opportunities for hunters, anglers and shooters, and it also will reauthorize a number of important conservation programs. We hope that the Senate will move forward quickly on this bill and we hope that the U.S. House of Representatives will soon follow suit.”
